Welcome...
…to the homepage of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO), the workers` welfare
union in the administrative district of Constance.
The
AWO, which was founded in 1919, is a charitable organization. This means
that we are a registered society that consists of several members and
offers different kinds of support and service, which are open to
everyone, regardless of a person`s religion, political attitude,
culture, nationality or a membership in our institution. We
support people in living their lives independently and
responsibly.
This
is our basic idea:
As we have been a part of the labour movement from the beginning, our
actions are determined by the values of liberal-democratic socialism,
such as:
-
solidarity
- tolerance
- freedom
- equality
- justice
Many
of our offers and services are a “speciality” in our country.
Certainly, there are similar
offers in other countries, but often this isn`t the case either,
or these offers have another meaning in those countries. Due to that,
we just would like to name you a few examples of
whom our services are open to:
-
children and young people
- families, parents and single parents
- people who suffer from a mental illness
- elder people
- unemployed people
- migrants
If
you would like to have further information, you can send us an e-mail
or phone us. You are
also welcome to drop in at our place.
We
will make efforts to inform you and provide you with further assistance
